Whether you are thinking about getting ready for your first sprint event or you are already an Ironman competitor, we can help you optimize your experience and your performance. J&J offers the only triathlon and Ironman coaching in Charleston and our coaches are USAT Certified Tri Coaches.
Local Sprints or national Ironman events require special preparation, training, and techniques to insure you have a safe experience and achieve the results you want.

J&J Performance Coaching is designed for you to select the level and kind of coaching that you need. It can be as much or as little as you want. J&J Performance Coaching includes working with you in any way that best works for you and can include any or all of the following areas:
Determining your optimum cardio (heart rate) zones to maximize your workout
- By using field test we are able to help you determine your HR zones.
Developing an overall TRI/Ironman strategy
- Goal setting
- Selecting races to compete in
- Planning your race
- Pacing strategies
- Swimming stroke
- Running style
- Cycling form
- $45 per hour
- Choosing the right equipment
- Bike Fitting
- Shoe Fitting
- Using heart rate monitors
- Providing you with our tri-training outline & guidelines
- Swimming performance strategies including drill work & flip turns
- Cycling performance strategies including pedal stroke tactics, gear selection, and cadence tactics
- Running performance strategies including pacing tactics and running off the bike tactics.
J&J Performance Coaching offers three Coaching Programs:
- The Q&A Program:
We meet with you once, twice, or as many times as you want and answer any questions you have about your TRI/Ironman program. $45 per hour
- The Personal Review Program:
We review your goals and your TRI/Ironman program and make suggestions to help you achieve your PR (Personal Record).
- The One-on-One Program:
A J&J coach works with you to develop the most effective TRI/Ironman program for you personally and trains with you on a one-on-one basis. The J&J One-on-One Program includes personal one-on-one coaching in all of the areas noted above: determining cardio zones, developing an overall strategy, analyzing and improving your technique, analyzing your equipment, and performance training.
